- Halloween fun is returning to the South Carolina State Museum on Oct. 23 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of festive activities on "Spooky Saturdays," ranging from Halloween-related shows to self-guided tours. SCSM will also be offering a "Dark History Tour," exploring a variety of infamous and legendary tales throughout the state's history. (ColaDaily.com)
- The Columbia City Council approved a contract with a key arts nonprofit that could open the door to more federal funding for arts and culture in Columbia. Yesterday, the council passed its annual contract with One Columbia for Arts and Culture. This contract designates One Columbia as a "local arts agency," a notation that could begin to change the dynamics for the nonprofit. (The State)
