  1. Columbia Police are asking for the public's help finding a man they believe started a fire inside a vacant home on Thursday night. Fire crews were called to a fire in the 3400 block of Beaumont Avenue - the Booker Washington Heights area - around 11 p.m. where they found evidence of arson. Columbia Police investigators are looking for 57-year-old Michael Masterson McClellan who they believe broke into the home and started the fire that consumed it. (WLTX.com)
  2. The City of Columbia Planning Commission is set to meet Monday, Oct. 4th to consider three proposed housing development projects for a total of 280 new units throughout Columbia. The meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4. at the Busby Community Center. Those who wish to attend can find additional information on the city website. (WLTX.com)
  3. First-year teachers in Lexington County School District One were awarded a collective $33,000 Bucks for Books grant by the Lexington One Educational Foundation yesterday. (ColaDaily.com)
  4. Officials are continuing to monitor South Carolina's seismic activity after three earthquakes Monday in the Summerville and Ladson area. (WRDW-TV)
