USC International Student Drowns in Saluda River
The student was trying to cross the river with friends when he drowned.

A 22-year-old USC student from Korea drowned Friday in the Saluda River near Riverbanks Zoo, multiple news sources reported.Â
Wonwoo Choi and his friends were trying to cross the river to get to a rope swing when he went under water, according to a report from wistv.com. Choi was transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial hospital where he was pronounced dead.Â
Classmates and professors at USC remember Choi for his upbeat personality, according to a story in The Daily Gamecock, USC's student newspaper.
