Weather Service Issues Excessive Heat Warning
Temperatures will be in the 100s again today.

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued an excessive heat warning for 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.Â
The warning is a step above a heat advisory. The National Weather Service recommends staying indoors during the afternoon. Even short exposures to the heat are dangerous. With temperatures in the 100s and a high level of humidity, heat illnessses are likely.Â
The warning covers areas in the central and eastern midlands, including Richland and Lexington counties. It also covers the southern central Savannah River area.
