Here are the top stories today in Columbia:
- White Knoll High School is on lockdown while officers search for a student. A spokesperson said the lockdown was issued Monday afternoon. According to the district, law enforcement was searching for a student who goes to the school. The district could not say why they were searching for the student or what specifically triggered the lockdown. (WLTX.com)
- A year ago, the Carolina Carillon Holiday Parade was among a wave of canceled events because of the global pandemic. But now it is set to ring in the holiday season in downtown Columbia once again. The 68th Carolina Carillon Parade, considered the official holiday parade of South Carolina, is set for 9:45 a.m. Saturday. It will begin at Sumter and Laurel streets and proceed south on Sumter, ending at Senate Street. (The State)
- A Columbia man who was wanted for threatening to kill a woman and her family was arrested on multiple charges after he and two others were found with guns. (The State)
- The South Carolina State Museum is set to transform the planetarium dome into a snow globe for the holidays. (WSPA 7News)
- An upscale Greek restaurant is coming to Main Street in Columbia. (WLTX.com)
