Conway's new 55,000-square-foot health center making quick progress (myhorrynews.com) — Construction is moving ahead on a 55,000-square-foot Health Care Partners of South Carolina campus at 1500 Fourth Avenue in Conway, steps from the Coast RTA bus terminal. The facility will combine primary care, pediatrics, dental, eye care, behavioral health, women’s health, a diabetes prevention program, substance use treatment, and a drive-thru pharmacy, with care available regardless of ability to pay.
   

2. ‘It is beautiful': Conway vying for Hallmark's ‘Merriest Christmas Towns' title (wmbfnews.com) — Conway is competing to be named one of Hallmark’s 25 Merriest Christmas Towns, with a shot at hosting a movie shoot downtown. Residents are submitting their favorite holiday memories, praising the riverwalk lights, quaint shops, and growing decorations ahead of the Aug. 10 entry deadline and an expected Oct. 31 announcement.
   

3. Conway adds unique benches made from repurposed wind turbine blades to downtown scene (myhorrynews.com) — Downtown Conway and Riverfront Park now feature five sculptural benches made from repurposed wind turbine blades, giving residents and visitors new spots to relax by the Waccamaw River. Three benches are already installed, with two more debuting in a Halloween display before moving to the park, and the city plans custom artwork reflecting Conway’s natural beauty and history.
   

4. Lighting strike leads to fire in Conway (wpde.com) — A lightning strike to a gas line sparked a small garage fire Friday evening on Wagner Circle in Conway, but firefighters quickly contained it before it reached the home. Horry County Fire Rescue reports no injuries or displacement, and utility crews are on scene to ensure everything is safe for nearby residents.
