• Arrest Follows Shots-Fired Investigation By Dillon County Sheriff's Office (dillonnews.org) — Deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man after responding to reports of shots fired near Bunker Hill Road and Corey’s Court in Dillon County on May 29. A later traffic stop in the Little Rock community led to the recovery of two AR-style pistols, spent shell casings, and alcohol, and the driver now faces assault and open-container charges.
   

• SBA Offers Disaster Relief to South Carolina Small Businesses and Private Nonprofits Affected by Drought (sba.gov) — Small businesses and private nonprofits in Dillon County can now apply for low-interest SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to cover working capital losses from this year’s drought. Eligible local organizations, including faith-based groups, may borrow up to $2 million with deferred payments, but traditional farmers are excluded, and applications are due by December 21.
   

• Dillon County Jury Convicts Father of Homicide by Child Abuse in Death of Infant Son (dillonnews.org) — A Dillon County jury has convicted a father of Homicide by Child Abuse in the death of his 13‑month‑old son after a five‑day General Sessions trial. Prosecutors detailed years of injuries and a fatal spinal fracture, and sentencing is set for June 23 in Dillon County General Sessions Court, with a possible penalty of 20 years to life.
