• Historic WWII warbirds aircraft return to Georgetown County Airport for Oct. 1-4 tour stop (abcnews4.com) — Georgetown County residents can soon get an up-close look at two rare World War II aircraft when the B-29 "DOC" and P-51 "Gunfighter" return to Georgetown County Airport October 1–4. You'll be able to take affordable ramp and cockpit tours or even book flight experiences during the multi-day visit, which organizers hope will build toward a full local air show.

• 'We are still here': City of Georgetown discussing installing 3 Middle Passage port markers (live5news.com) — Georgetown city leaders are weighing an ordinance to allow three Middle Passage port markers at East Bay Park and along the Harborwalk, formally recognizing the city as a documented arrival site for enslaved Africans. If approved, the markers would be unveiled October 24 with month-long observances, workshops, and lectures honoring those who suffered and those who shaped the community afterward.
