Friday Football: Stratford, Cane Bay Return Home

Goose Creek on the road in hopes of going 5-0.

Update: Click here for final scores from Friday night's games.

Some of our top talent is still on the road this week, but there's more than enough star power in town to keep you busy Friday night.

The 4-0 Gators stay on the road for one more week against Dutch Fork. The Silver Foxes have a 2-2 record heading into this week. As with just about any challenger, they'll probably just be hoping for a respectable finish against Goose Creek. And, for you Gator fans missing the bleachers, they'll be back home for a three-game run beginning next week.

With defending state champions down the street, it's hard for Stratford to get much attention for its similarly strong start to the season. The 4-0 Knights will actually be home this week to show off that strength against visiting Colleton County (0-4).

Speaking of success stories, Cane Bay's surprising 3-1 start to its first AAAA season faces a fresh challenge this week from Ashley Ridge. The visitor is at 1-3, but Ashley Ridge set up some of its most difficult games at the front end of the season (including Goose Creek and Stratford). The Cobras will appreciate the home team crowd to push that record to 4-1.

Chris Brown is certainly missed at Hanahan. But the team is still holding its own — now in AAA. The 3-1 Hawks are on the road this week to Wade Hampton. Hopefully the lighting issues that plagued last week's game won't be travelling with them.
