📰 News we're reading

• Publix will close a handful of locations (lakelandgazette.info) — Publix is closing its Goose Creek store at 208 Saint James Avenue by year's end, directly affecting local grocery options. The company is shutting seven underperforming locations across three states after sluggish sales and weaker consumer spending, though some stores will eventually be rebuilt. Goose Creek residents may need to plan for alternative shopping nearby.

• Volleyball Recap: Cane Bay Rolls to Its Fourth Straight Win (maxpreps.com) — Cane Bay's volleyball team recently swept Goose Creek 3-0, adding to a strong stretch that has them sitting at 21-9 and riding a four-game win streak. Goose Creek fans will note Cane Bay's balanced attack, led by standout performances from Olivia Davis and McKenzie Brewington. The result highlights how competitive local high school volleyball has become this season.
