• Hanahan Mayor Christie Rainwater Will Not Seek Re-election (berkeleyobserver.com) — Hanahan residents will soon choose new leadership as Mayor Christie Rainwater says she will not seek another term after nearly a decade in office. She highlights redevelopment, new parks, and road work among her accomplishments, while a recent state ethics reprimand over a 2022 land deal remains in the background. Rainwater says she’ll stay active locally but wants more time for family.
   

• MUSC uses electrical stimulation for gastroparesis (thetandd.com) — A Hanahan woman’s struggle with severe gastroparesis led her to an MUSC specialist who offered a gastric pacemaker to ease her daily nausea and vomiting. The treatment, used in about 2,000 patients so far, sends mild electrical pulses to the stomach to improve emptying. While not a cure, it’s allowing her to eat more normally and feel less bloated.
