• Decades of conservation pays off with banner turtle nesting season (charlestoncitypaper.com) — Hilton Head Island beaches are seeing a banner turtle nesting season, with local turtle teams already recording 413 nests, far above last year's total. State experts credit decades of conservation work and urge island residents to clear beach furniture, fill in holes, and reduce nighttime lighting so hatchlings can safely reach the ocean.
   

• 10 Fire Departments Hiring Fire Chiefs, Firefighters (firehouse.com) — Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue is hiring a Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic, offering a starting salary just over $50,000 for qualified applicants. The position is part of a nationwide roundup of fire service openings, but stands out as a direct opportunity for island residents interested in public safety careers close to home.
   

• HS Football Rewind: Hilton Head passes second road test. HHCA, Battery Creek win (islandpacket.com) — Hilton Head Island's Seahawks football team passed another big road test, forcing four turnovers in a 35–24 win that snapped Bamberg-Ehrhardt's 16-game streak. Hilton Head Christian, Battery Creek, and several other Lowcountry programs also notched notable victories, while a long list of statewide scores rounds out a busy Week 2 under the Friday night lights.
