Here are the top three stories today in Hilton Head:

  1. Officials in South Carolina are seeking help to identify the descendants of a man whose remains were found near a 19th-century fishing village in 2017, during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. The remains, which are believed to be from the 1890s, are described as being of a young man dressed in clothes similar to those worn by fishermen of the time. DNA technology company FHD Forensics is working with South Carolina officials to identify the man, known as "South Island John Doe." (Hilton Head Island Packet)
  2. The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Chamber Ball on Apr. 1 will celebrate the legacy of the RBC Heritage and recognize community members who have made a difference. The event's theme will be "Mad for Plaid" this year; you can grab tickets and read further information about the event here. (HHI-Bluffton Chamber via Twitter)
  3. The Hilton Head WingFest is back for its 26th year! Attendees can enjoy good eats from the best local restaurants, along with live music, kids' activities, and a friendly wing competition. Read more about this year's fest on Mar. 18 at the link. (Hilton Head WingFest)
