Sponsored by Compassionate Care Hospice, local children will fill the Irmo Town Park on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 10am-12pm to enjoy egg hunting, face painting, traditional festival games, a bounce house and a giant slide.  Special guest stars of the day will be the famous rabbit himself and his furry friends, bunnies Abigail and Cookie, Holland Lops that serve as pet therapy animals for the hospice.  There will be a photographer on hand to take Easter Bunny pictures.  Tickets are $4 per child in advance or $6 per child the day of the event.  Tickets include all activities except food and pictures, which will be sold separately.

All proceeds from the Hunt for Hospice benefit the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation (CCHF), a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing aid and support for hospice patients and families in distress.   Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation is the calm in the heart of the storm for individuals who are terminally ill, or for their families, when there is nowhere else to turn.  Since 2004, CCHF has provided nearly $3 million in financial aid to help terminally ill people who are in financial need and their immediate household pay for life’s basics – food, shelter, utilities and comfort items whenever possible.  CCHF also provides free grief and bereavement support groups to children who have experienced a loss from illness, murder, suicide, drug overdose, military deployment or divorce through a group called COMPASSIONATE COURAGE.
