Is USC's Next Basketball Coach A Rule-Breaker?

Many people think South Carolina has set its sites on Kansas State head basketball coach Frank Martin as the next Gamecocks' hire.

But after losing in the NCAA tournament to Syracuse, Martin took a seat on the CBS set as an analyst and called those rumors speculation, according to a transcript in the Kansas City Star.

In the same discussion on TV, Martin discussed one of his players being suspended from school for taking money from a "father figure" in his life.

Martin, a longtime youth basketball coach in inner-city Miami, said he too has sent money to former players who went into the college ranks.

Other coaches mentioned as possible replacements for Darrin Horn, , have been VCU coach Shaka Smart and Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall. Marshall is a former Winthrop coach. Both men are saying they plan to remain at their current schools
