Ridge View High School Principal Dr. Brenda Mack-Foxworth is a finalist for South Carolina Secondary Principal of the Year. The South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) made the announcement Friday, November 12, 2021, placing Dr. Mack-Foxworth in the top three of all secondary principals in the state. She will be interviewed by a panel of business, community and education leaders this week. The selection of a winner is scheduled to be announced prior to December 17, 2021.

“I am honored to be the principal of Ridge View High School, home of the Blazers. Being named a finalist for SC Secondary Principal of the Year is a reflection of the dedication of my administrative staff, teachers, students, parents and community. This is one of the highlights of my career that I will always treasure,” said Dr. Mack-Foxworth.   Dr. Mack-Foxworth began her principalship at Ridge View at the start of the 2013-2014 school year. Under her leadership Ridge View has experienced great success focusing on what Dr. Mack-Foxworth calls The Four A’s: Academics, Activities, Arts and Athletics. Some of the many accomplishments and highlights for Ridge View during the last nine years include:  “The achievements that have been realized at Ridge View High School during Dr. Mack-Foxworth’s tenure as principal are extraordinary. She sets the bar high for students and staff and expects success. She is a very deserving candidate for this award,” said Richland Two Superintendent Dr. Baron R. Davis. Dr. Mack-Foxworth has received the 2020 S. C. Association of Student Councils Administrator of the Year Award; 2020 S. C. Music Educators Association Honor Administrator Award; and the 2019 U. S. Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.  Dr. Mack-Foxworth joined Richland Two in 2002 and served as an assistant principal of instruction at Ridge View for eight years. Before that she was an assistant administrator at Spring Valley High School. She attended The University of South Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Arts in Teaching in mathematics, as well as, a master’s degree in education leadership. She received her doctorate in educational leadership with a minor in curriculum and instruction from Nova Southeastern University.  She and her husband, Calvin, have two children who are recent graduates of Richland School District Two.
