Besides those directly affected, Irmo residents didn't seem to care that the Town Council spent an estimated $2million on this new 'community' park in 2013. I am going to go out on a limb that this post will spark some kind of reaction ... here's hoping.
Council has now spent a further $30 000 on gravel parking and are cementing walkways and beautifying trees etc along Eastview Drive. They didn't bother before ....

From my understanding, Barry Walker proposes that Council reneges on their agreement with residents abutting the park, in that a FURTHER $50 000 be allocated for parking within the 100' buffer. Now not only is it a question of money, but also a question of honor and broken promises.

Barry Walker and any other Council member that votes in favor of this - you are self-serving low-life liars. You ALL voted in favor of that 100’ buffer and Barry Walker and Harvey Hoots’ hands were raised the highest. The people spoke last year and, as usual, they are ignored.
People, please start to wonder and think about how we are NOT being represented and how our taxes are being wasted ... just look at the state of our roads and Council is worried about a further $50 000 worth of PARKING bays ... in an expensive stuck-away park?
Please attend the next Council meeting at 7300 Woodrow Street, Irmo, to make your voice be heard on Thursday, 8 May at 7pm.
