As I get ever older and grumpier, I am discovering my own proclivity toward an attitude of despair about our culture. The successful franchisement of any minority group along with the concomitant increase of political clout and economic advancement whittles away at the root and source of both. What results is an ever weakening and ever fragmented stew of disparate ideals where anybody gets something and everybody gets less. The motivation of common good is replaced by the right and privilege of the few. The seeds sown in this garden are the fruits of revolution. Fruits of these kind are best served as appetizers, not entrees.
