• Fort Pemberton Park opens on James Island (live5news.com) — Fort Pemberton Park is now officially open on James Island’s Riverland Terrace, giving residents daily public access to new walking paths, a fishing dock, kayak launch, and waterfront views. The city and conservation partners turned the once-private 8.7-acre property into an ADA-accessible park, preserving historic fort features while expanding much-needed public waterfront space for James Island and Charleston neighbors.
