• Loris teen admits to 2025 shooting of his uncle (wmbfnews.com) — An 18-year-old from Loris has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the 2025 shooting death of his uncle in Horry County and was sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act to up to five years in prison. Prosecutors said the shooting happened as the uncle fired at a deer from a car and handed the gun to the then-17-year-old, who mishandled it and fired a single fatal shot.
