BCLS Hosting June Summer Reading Events for Kids, Teens and Adults (holycitysinner.com) — Families and teens in Moncks Corner can dive into summer reading fun with Dino Bingo and an Anime Hangout at the Moncks Corner Library starting June 8. Additional dinosaur-themed craft events are planned at Cane Bay and Goose Creek branches, all with limited spots and free supplies provided. Registration is required, so residents should sign up early.

Moncks Corner receives $1.2M grant for new sidewalks, pedestrian safety project (abcnews4.com) — Moncks Corner has secured a $1.2 million federal grant to build about 1.5 miles of new sidewalks along R.C. Dennis Boulevard and Stony Landing Road, improving safety for walkers near schools and neighborhoods. Town leaders say the ready-to-bid project responds to rapid growth, past pedestrian fatalities, and years of resident feedback about safer ways to reach parks, shops, and downtown.

Tri-County Orange Walk Returns to Moncks Corner to Honor Victims, Raise Awareness About Gun Violence (berkeleyobserver.com) — Residents can join the Tri-County Orange Walk in Moncks Corner this Saturday, June 6, starting and ending at the Moncks Corner Recreation Complex for a three-mile route through town. Inspired by gun violence victim Bradley Blake, the free event features food, entertainment, and community resources while bringing neighbors, law enforcement, and local organizations together to promote healing, prevention, and safer streets.

Lost foster dog, Bark Simpson, found safe after over six months with help of volunteers (counton2.com) — A foster dog named Bark Simpson, missing for six months after bolting from a truck, has been safely recovered and is now back at Charleston Animal Society’s Berkeley Campus in Moncks Corner. Volunteers spent months tracking him with food, cameras, and traps before he finally returned with a canine friend. Bark is now available to foster and adopt at a discount through Sunday.
