Military Gets Free Admission at Kiawah Championship
Active duty military will be allowed to attend 2012 PGA Championship in Kiawah even if event is sold out

Representatives from the 2012 PGA Championship announced on Tuesday that active duty members of the miltary will be allowed to attend the tournament for free.
Active duty members can present their IDs for free admission without the need to reserve tickets, according to an Associated Press report. Members of the military will be admitted even if the event is sold out and an additional free ticket will also be provided for military spouses.
The tournament will be played from Aug. 6-12 at The Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. More than 90 percent of tickets for the event have already been sold.

The Ocean Course's unique location amid vast stretches of protected dunes raised concerns about its ability to accomodate large crowds, but tournament officials have made alterations to adjust for the event.
Based on Tuesday's announcement, officials expect to be able to host a sell-out crowd and then some.
