They argue flooding, drainage, wetlands, and water quality impacts weren't fully addressed and hope to protect Laurel Hill County Park and nearby neighborhoods, potentially delaying construction until their concerns are reviewed in court.
   

2. Mount Pleasant moves forward with Pitt Street Bridge feasibility study (live5news.com) — Mount Pleasant officials have approved a $318,000 feasibility study to determine long-term safety and preservation plans for the popular Pitt Street Bridge, including its seawalls and fishing pier. The six‑month study will guide future construction and possible closures, aiming to protect historic tabby seawalls while ensuring the bridge can withstand hurricanes and remain a safe, accessible spot for walking, birding, and crabbing.
   

3. Witnesses intervened as he repeatedly assaulted a woman and tried to force her into his truck, and Mount Pleasant police arrived to find her struggling to breathe and seriously injured.

Hurricane Isaias will stay west, but its tropical moisture, strong northeast winds, and a New Moon will combine to raise tides and bring periods of very heavy rain, gusty winds, and possible isolated tornadoes Saturday and Sunday.
