Here are the top four stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Palmetto Preschool & Learning Center is being sued by the parents of a girl who formerly attended the school, for allegedly failing to take any action to prevent sexual abuse of the child. According to wpde.com, "yhe lawsuit accuses [the school] of ignoring the parents' report that their daughter, who was six years old at the time, was locked in the bathroom by another child where she was sexually assaulted. The lawsuit was filed on April 18 using the pseudonyms of Mother Doe, Father Doe and Jane Doe due to the sensitive nature of the subject to protect their identities. According to the lawsuit, in September 2020, Jane Doe reported the sexual assault to her parents. Jane Doe's teacher, listed as "Ms. Amy" in the lawsuit, assured Mother Doe the school would investigate and her daughter would be separated from the alleged perpetrator. Two days later, Jane Doe told her parents the perpetrator assaulted her again. Following that second report, Mother Doe spoke to the school's administrator Jennifer Cusack. Cusack told Mother Doe the school was understaffed and it was not possible for it to keep Jane Doe separated from her [attacker], the lawsuit read."(wpde.com)
