Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. Travelers going through Myrtle Beach International Airport say Thanksgiving weekend was easier for them as compared to recent years, but definitely more expensive. Passengers saw shorter security lines and an airport emptier than it has been lately. Prices for airline tickets to and from Myrtle Beach were the most pricey some folks had seen in a while. (wpde.com)
  2. If you were lucky enough to see the 38th annual Intracoastal Waterway Regatta on Saturday evening, you were one of many. The Yachts For Tots fundraiser was a good time for all and helped needy children in the area. Boats were decorated with holiday lights and cruised the North Strand from Grand Harbor Marina to Myrtle Beach Yacht Club and Boardwalk Billy's. (wpde.com)
  3. Are you looking for a one-stop website listing Myrtle Beach Christmas events and festivals? Well, look no further because the folks at Foodgressing have put it all together here: (Foodgressing)

From my notebook:

  • Are you wondering what's on the housing market in Myrtle Beach? The folks at Patch Real Estate News have located these five new properties for sale in and around Myrtle Beach. (Myrtle Beach Patch)
  • The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach: On Nov. 26 a neutered male dog was left outside the HSNMB shelter inside a crate while the shelter was open for business. The person who left the dog did not seek assistance with the animal. There was a brief note tacked onto the crate indicating that the dog was found on Highway 17 south. The shelter posted this announcement because they want folks to know that abandoning animals in the parking lot puts an immense strain on the organization and it is unsafe. Instructions in the Facebook post here explain how to surrender an unwanted animal. (The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach via Facebook)
  • Restaurant owner Lva Hysa had a childhood dream when he was growing up in Greece that became a reality right here in Myrtle Beach. Hysa owns Zardin in Market Common. Read his inspiring story and support Zardin by dining locally! (wpde.com)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
