• Prepare for pea-sized hail with thunderstorms in Cherokee and York counties Wednesday (thestate.com) — A strong thunderstorm late Wednesday night was tracked just 4 miles east of Smyrna, bringing pea-sized hail, 40 mph wind gusts, and torrential rain that could cause localized flooding. The National Weather Service warned residents in York and nearby communities to secure loose items, watch for downed limbs, and never drive through flooded roads as the storm moved east before midnight.
