Musings from Kaye: My First Post

Hi, and welcome to my blog, " Musings from Kaye".

Well, I guess I'm the "Newbee" blogger on Summerville Patch. I am looking forward to our conversations, comments etc.

As some may know, I'm a " transplant," along with my spouse to this lovely town of Summerville. We came here from the cold climes of western New York on the shores of Lake Ontario, just north of Rochester.

Having lived there for about 37 years, with two seasons, summer and winter, my pulmonary doctor said I needed to move if I wanted to keep breathing. It sounded like a good idea to me. I was also tired of that white stuff — no not dandruff, but snow, averaging about 162 inches a year. You know: the kind of snow that forces you to go out a window with a shovel and only to have to dig out passage way to the buried car.

He suggested South Carolina or Arizona. I had been to Charleston several times over the years and like the area. I also have cousin living in Ladson. So all in all, it seemed to be a good fit. And it would not be too far from our North-based family.

Thus we came down, found a place to hang our hats, and two weeks later we were here ... along with a huge professional moving van, full of our stuff. About a year later, our Maggie, a four legged one, died at the age of 17 years. Shortly there after, through our vet, we adopted in to the Fox den our two southern-born springer Spaniels, Megan and Lady Suzanne. They are sisters and a ton of fun, especially coming in from the rain and mud. So here we are two "retired" folks, with our babies.

After several more short moves around the town, we ended up in a cute house on a small pond full of ducks and geese and God knows what else. All thoroughly enjoyed by our fenced-in girls.

Adjacent to that cute house is a garage full of stuff and no room for our wheels, but then I guess we are not alone from what I have seen in other garages — guess that's the American way.

Mega Blessings. Be catching ya all later.
