• Two Sumter County event center owners charged with alcohol offenses (wach.com) — Two Sumter County residents who co-own Zaddy’s Event Center on Manning Avenue have been charged with multiple alcohol-related offenses after a SLED investigation. Authorities say the business lacked required permits, allegedly sold alcohol to a confidential informant, and stored liquor on-site without proper licensing. The case will be prosecuted by the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
   

• Sumter man's $500K tire-shop hunch, $200K scream win and 3 SC lottery fraud arrests (thestate.com) — Sumter residents are seeing big lottery luck, with one player winning $500,000 at Sumter Stop on South Guignard Drive and another turning a $1,000 win into a $200,000 jackpot on West Liberty Street. The roundup also notes several lottery-related fraud arrests elsewhere in South Carolina and warns that seniors statewide lost millions to scams last year.
   

• South Carolina honors law enforcement heroes with Medal of Valor at ceremony (wach.com) — Sumter County deputies were among ten officers statewide honored in Columbia with the prestigious Medal of Valor for life-saving bravery. Local recipients included Senior Cpl. Daniel Dinkins and Deputy Zachary Rutan for stopping an armed suspect, and Senior Investigator Edward Boyles for providing critical medical aid and information after a shooting, highlighting Sumter County’s role in statewide public safety.
