City officials say this hands-on approach saved taxpayers significant money while improving a highly visible local natural area that many residents pass or use regularly.

4. Aberdeen man charged after fleeing police in stolen vehicle, crashing at fairgrounds (dakotanewsnow.com) — An Aberdeen man is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in a stolen vehicle and crashing into a pole at the Brown County Fairgrounds. Police say the officer ended the attempted stop near Highway 281 and 6th Avenue SW to avoid endangering the public. The driver was hospitalized, then charged with DUI, reckless driving, eluding, burglary, and grand theft.

5. Aberdeen Community Theatre brings 'Cinderella' to stage (aberdeennews.com) — Aberdeen Community Theatre is teaming up with Northern State University to stage Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at the Johnson Fine Arts Center later this month. With a large local cast, orchestra, and crew, the family-friendly musical runs Oct. 21-25. Tickets, including Early Bird discounts starting Oct. 5, are available for both adults and children.
