• ‘Twisted Nightmare' haunted house opens at new location (keloland.com) — A popular Halloween attraction, the Twisted Nightmare haunted house, has moved to a new rural Brandon location in a once-flooded farmhouse that volunteers have transformed since May. Organizers promise creepy clowns, backyard graveyard scenes, and plenty of jump scares, with online details available for ticket information and hours if you’re ready for a close-to-home fright night.
   

• Continuing conservation: Retired conservationist opens farm to teach others about grasslands (agupdate.com) — Students recently visited Pasque Hill on Beaver Creek near Brandon to learn how healthy grasslands protect soil and the Big Sioux River, guided by longtime conservationist Jeff Zimprich and Big Sioux River Project staff. The field day used hands-on demonstrations with soil, flour, and bread to show how native plants and no-till practices reduce runoff, giving Brandon-area kids a close-up look at local land stewardship.
