Multiple agencies assist in pursuit of stolen truck in Brookings County (dakotanewsnow.com) — Early Monday, a multi-county law enforcement pursuit of a stolen F-550 ended in Brookings County when spike strips disabled the truck near exit 180 on I-29. Brookings County deputies and police helped capture two juveniles without further incident, and several regional agencies are now assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Deer linked to 2 crashes in Brookings County (brookingsregister.com) — Two early-morning crashes involving deer on U.S. Highway 14 near Volga and between Brookings and Volga sent one Brookings woman to Brookings Health System and destroyed two vehicles. The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office urges drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and wear safety gear, noting deer are active year-round. Local fire and ambulance crews from Volga and Brookings responded.

3. Master plan could bring major road changes to Brookings (brookingsregister.com) — Brookings officials are weighing a 25-year transportation master plan that could narrow key streets like Main Avenue South and Medary Avenue, add bike and pedestrian space, and possibly redesign the busy Sixth Street–Western Avenue intersection. The Brookings Area Transportation Plan, still awaiting council acceptance, would guide which projects move forward as funding and public input shape final decisions.

4. #SDpreps Tuesday Scoreboard (6/2) (hubcityradio.com) — State B girls and boys golf tournaments wrapped up in Brookings at Edgebrook Golf Course, with Clark/WL and Bon Homme taking the team titles. Brookings’ own girls finished ninth in the AA field, while several area schools posted strong individual rounds across all three state tournaments.
