Safety Alert: Closure for Pactola North Boat Ramp (usda.gov) — Local boaters should plan around a major change at Pactola: the North Boat Ramp will close October 5 through January 31 for construction that extends the concrete ramp about 70 feet. While the ramp is off‑limits for safety, parking, shoreline access, and the vault toilet will stay open, and officials say the timing aims to limit disruption while taking advantage of low water levels.

Lakota Nation Invitational volleyball tournament underway in Rapid City (newscenter1.tv) — Volleyball fans in Rapid City can catch the Lakota Nation Invitational at Summit Arena today, where 24 teams are battling through bracket play after Friday’s pool rounds. Local squads like RC Central and others lead their pools, while Rapid City Stevens is also competing this weekend at the Twin Cities Invitational in Scottsbluff.
