New apartment projects are coming online, but affordable and middle-market options remain limited, especially HUD-assisted units, meaning residents may need to compromise on amenities to keep rents manageable.
3. Sioux Falls Gang Members Indicted for Racketeering Involving Attempted Murder (gowatertown.net) — Federal prosecutors have indicted three Sioux Falls men linked to the Gangster Disciples on multiple racketeering-related charges, including conspiracy and attempted murder. The men, accused of violent gang activity and firearms offenses in and around Sioux Falls, have pleaded not guilty and remain in U.S. Marshals custody ahead of an October 26, 2026, trial.

EmBe announces nominees for 53rd annual EMBES ceremony (ksfy.com) — Dozens of Sioux Falls-area residents, organizations, and businesses have been nominated for EmBe's 53rd annual EMBES – A Tribute to Women, honoring standout contributions across fields from banking and healthcare to education and the arts.
