Sioux Falls schools expand substance use prevention with $1M grant (argusleader.com) — Six Sioux Falls School District schools are launching a three-year, grant-funded pilot to expand substance use prevention and counseling, adding specialized staff at Hawthorne, Robert Frost, Susan B. Anthony, Terry Redlin, Patrick Henry, and Lincoln. Partnering with Avera and Emily's Hope, the district will offer earlier screening, small-group supports, and on-site addiction counselors, aiming to rebuild services lost when previous prevention funding ended.

The men, accused of violent gang activity and firearms offenses in and around Sioux Falls, have pleaded not guilty and remain in U.S. Marshals custody ahead of an October 26, 2026, trial.
5. EmBe announces nominees for 53rd annual EMBES ceremony (ksfy.com) — Dozens of Sioux Falls-area residents, organizations, and businesses have been nominated for EmBe's 53rd annual EMBES – A Tribute to Women, honoring standout contributions across fields from banking and healthcare to education and the arts.
