Former Missouri River Energy exec to be honored at SDSU (brookingsradio.com) — A longtime Sioux Falls energy leader, former Missouri River Energy Services CEO Tom Heller, is being honored this fall with SDSU's Wayne E. Knabach Excellence in Power Award. Based in Sioux Falls for decades, Heller helped grow the regional utility without losing a single member community and now plans to retire again to focus on family and service at Bishop Dudley Hospitality House. 
2. Hatebreed Unveil The Title Track To Their New Album "Fatal Paradox" (theprp.com) — Metalcore band Hatebreed is bringing their Summer Slaughter Tour to Sioux Falls on September 2, playing The District alongside several other heavy acts. The stop is part of a broader North American run supporting their upcoming album "Fatal Paradox," whose title track just dropped with a new visualizer ahead of the November 6 release.
3. Nena the rescue dog is a source of comfort and joy at Sioux Falls Metro dispatch center (siouxfallslive.com) — Sioux Falls' Metro Communications 911 center has a full-time four-legged team member: Nena, a rescue poodle mix adopted from the Sioux Falls Humane Society who now lives at the city's Public Safety Campus. Staff say her presence eases the emotional toll of emergency calls, boosts morale, and even nudges dispatchers to take healthy walking breaks between long, stressful shifts.
4. Dolly Parton's literacy legacy in KELOLAND (keloland.com) — Sioux Falls is remembering Dolly Parton's 2002 Washington Pavilion fundraiser that helped launch South Dakota's branch of her Imagination Library, now mailing nearly 10,000 free children's books a month.
