Strangers Rally For Miracle Rescue Of Great Horned Owl Impaled On Barbed-Wire Fence (cowboystatedaily.com) — A Spearfish couple driving near town spotted a great horned owl impaled on a barbed-wire fence and, with help from passing strangers, managed a careful rescue. After a local vet visit, the owl is now recovering at the Black Hills Raptor Center and may eventually be released back into its familiar territory near Spearfish.
