• Deer linked to 2 crashes in Brookings County (brookingsregister.com) — Two early-morning crashes involving deer on Highway 14 near Volga sent one driver to the hospital and destroyed both vehicles. Both incidents, west of Volga and between Brookings and Volga, drew responses from the Volga Fire Department and Brookings Ambulance, with the sheriff’s office urging drivers to slow down and stay alert for wildlife.
