• Concrete Work Being Done In Yankton (yankton.net) — Several Yankton streets, including parts of 29th, 23rd, Peyton, 15th, 9th and 5th, will see concrete repairs with full closures lasting about a week at each site in coming weeks. Drivers should watch for signs, obey barricades, and plan alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays near these neighborhood projects.
   

• Avera Research Institute Mobile Unit To Stop In Yankton Oct. 1 (yankton.net) — Avera's mobile research unit is coming to Avera Sacred Heart's Professional Office Pavilion in Yankton on Oct. 1 from 3-6 p.m., offering a free, family-friendly event with food, games, and raffle drawings. You can learn about local research programs like ECHO and Avera Healthy Start, ask questions about participation, and connect with staff working to improve health across South Dakota.
   

• On The 'Wings Of An Eagle' (yankton.net) — Olympic gold medalist and South Dakota native Billy Mills recently spent a day with Yankton School District students, speaking at Yankton High School and Yankton Middle School and joining a public walk at the YMS track. He shared stories of overcoming hardship, following dreams, and finding unity through diversity, offering an uplifting message tailored to local youth and families.
