• Derby WPCA Sewer Use Bills And Capital Fee Bills (newhavenindependent.org) — Derby residents are being billed now for 2026–27 WPCA sewer use and capital fees, with the first half due September 1 and interest starting October 2 if unpaid. The second half is due March 1, 2027, with no additional bill mailed, and payments can be made at City Hall on Elizabeth Street or online at derbyct.gov.
   

• Griffin Health, Derby Elks to hold car booster seat safety clinic Sept. 15 (blogspot.com) — Families in Derby can get expert help with car booster seats at a free Griffin Health and Derby Elks clinic on Sept. 15 from 3–5 p.m. at 4 Mountain St. Certified technicians will check installations, teach proper use, and eligible families can apply by email for a free booster seat for children ages 5 to 8.
   

• Griffin Hospital Annual 5K Set For Oct. 24 (newhavenindependent.org) — Derby runners and walkers are invited to Griffin Hospital’s annual 5K on Oct. 24, starting at 350 Seymour Ave. Registration is $35 before Oct. 5, with proceeds funding advanced radiation therapy for local cancer patients, and participants can form teams, seek pledges, or sponsor signs to honor loved ones or promote businesses.
