2. New Britain man admits role in cocaine trafficking operation, faces federal prison term (fox61.com) — A 28-year-old New Britain resident has admitted in federal court to possessing over 500 grams of cocaine tied to a storage unit on West Main Street in the city, and now faces at least five years in prison. FBI task force members and New Britain police made controlled drug buys before seizing the stash, and sentencing is set for September 1.

Bethel baseball team rallies to defeat Branford, advances to first CIAC championship game since 1991 (nhregister.com) — A packed crowd at New Britain Stadium watched Bethel erase a four-run deficit and walk off Branford 5–4 to reach its first CIAC Class L baseball final since 1991. The semifinal, played Tuesday in New Britain, featured late-inning heroics from Tom Martin and strong bullpen work, setting up this weekend’s state championship matchup in Middletown.
