• CT man facing charge for killing black bear who was allegedly eating his livestock (courant.com) — A Granby man has been charged with illegally killing a black bear he says was attacking his chickens, and he’s now due in Superior Court in Torrington on October 9. Environmental Conservation Police say he reported shooting the bear after finding it in his enclosure, and officials are investigating his claims that the animal may also have killed his goats.
