'A Tiramisu of Beautiful Things': The Moscow City Council Hears a CUP Appeal (moscowidaho.news) — Moscow residents just saw their City Council overturn a Board of Adjustment denial and grant a conditional use permit for 513 S. Main Street after a closely argued appeal. The meeting also covered county budget planning and a new agreement formalizing Moscow Police collaboration with an FBI task force on crimes against children, offering a rare glimpse of robust debate at City Hall.

2. Stuff the Bus 2026 Returns to Help Moscow Students (dailyfly.com) — Families in the Moscow School District can look forward to the Stuff the Bus 2026 school supply drive, set for Aug. 13–15 outside Staples at Palouse Place Mall. Donations will stay in the district to support about 700 Moscow students with supplies, clothing, snacks, and hygiene items, and residents are encouraged to give, volunteer, or organize workplace drives.

3. Moscow food pantry could ease pressure (spokesman.com) — A Moscow nonprofit food pantry, Inland Oasis, has opened a new commercial kitchen on West Pullman Road that local residents and small food businesses can reserve. The space will support Moscow Farmers Market vendors, expand community meals, and help preserve produce from the group’s garden and revived Backyard Harvest program so more fresh food reaches area pantries.

4. Idaho and Washington State men's basketball agree to home-and-home series (krem.com) — Vandal basketball fans can mark their calendars for a renewed rivalry with Washington State, as Idaho and WSU have agreed to a home-and-home series with a return game in Moscow in 2027–28. That matchup will be the first between the teams at ICCU Arena and the first played in Moscow since 2021, adding extra excitement to Idaho’s already tough nonconference schedule.
