• 600 pounds of illicit marijuana destroyed without charges, irking leaders near Ypsilanti (mlive.com) — Ypsilanti Township officials are criticizing Washtenaw County prosecutors after more than 600 pounds of marijuana discovered in a 2025 trailer fire were destroyed without any charges, despite safety concerns and alleged unfairness to legal growers. Prosecutor Eli Savit’s office says it lacked evidence tying a suspect to the operation, while also maintaining a policy of targeting only large-scale cases. Local leaders say residents deserve stronger protection and clearer handling of future grow operations.
