• West Tennessee volunteer fire department grants total nearly $3 million (crockettcountytimes.com) — Alamo’s volunteer firefighters just received $55,720 in state grant funds, buying four new air packs and replacing aging hoses to improve local fire protection and insurance ratings. Other Crockett County departments in Bells, Gadsden, Friendship, Maury City and rural stations also shared nearly $3 million in grants, upgrading turnout gear, radios, and rescue equipment that support responses in and around Alamo.
