5 Injured in 3-Car Murfreesboro Pike Crash

A high-speed, three-car wreck closed portions of Murfreesboro Pike Sunday night.

NASHVILLE, TN — A high-speed, chain-reaction, three-car wreck on Murfreesboro Pike left five people seriously injured Sunday night.

Witnesses told Metro Police a car traveling north on Murfreesboro Pike near the Kroger at Nashboro Boulevard hit a car on the southbound lanes at a high rate of speed around 6:45 p.m., then a third car rear-ended one of the others.

Police said five people were seriously injured but none of those injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Both sides of Murfreesboro Pike was closed for about 45 minutes during the clean-up and investigation, with the southbound lanes remaining shut down for another two hours after that.
