Antioch Cockfighting Ring Busted: Police

More than 40 birds allegedly used in cockfighting were seized from property on Antioch Pike.

ANTIOCH, TN — Scores of birds and fighting paraphernalia were seized from property on Antioch Pike as part of a bust of an apparent cockfighting ring, according to Metro Animal Care and Control and Metro Police.

MACC and MNPD served a warrant in the 1000 block of Antioch Pike were it was suspected the birds were bred and kept. Forty-one birds were safely removed by MACC along with supplements, fighting gaffs, spur covers and transport boxes.

Investigators did not identify the property owner and said charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
