A 19-year-old was arrested for allegedly trying to steal a handgun during a Murfreesboro gun show.
MURFREESBORO, TN — Murfreesboro Police arrested an Antioch 19-year-old Sunday, after he allegedly tried to steal a handgun from a vendor at a gun show.
When officers arrived at the R.K. Gun Show at the Middle Tennessee Expo Center, they found a group of people holding down Shenoda Riad, 19. Witnesses told police Riad had been walking around the gun show with a Springfield XD-S pistol and then grabbed a vendor's revolver and tried to leave the show with it.
Several people held Riad, according to a police report, even as he yelled and tried to fight them. The bystanders were able to retrieve the XD-S and the stolen gun and hold Riad until police arrived.
