Antioch Woman Breaks Stuff During Drunken 'Tirade' About Alleged Affair: Police

A woman ranting about an alleged affair broke a door and a flower pot and was arrested for public intox in Antioch.

ANTIOCH, TN — A woman upset about an affair she believed her husband was having drunkenly broke a front door and a flower pot at the home of the supposed mistress, according to police.

Police arrived at a home on Streamridge Court to see a woman banging on the front door. As police approached, the woman allegedly fell down the stairs and was told to take a seat for her own protection. She complied, but continued yelling at the homeowners, accusing one of them of having an affair with her husband. The woman allegedly admitted to driving to the house to confront the purported mistress. The homeowners told officers that, until recently, they hadn't seen or spoken to the woman in more than a decade.

"She was banging on the front door screaming profanities and accusing them on what she believed to be extramarital affairs. When they advised the defendant to leave the location she refused," the police report said. "The homeowner advised that the defendant damaged their front steel door, the lock to the door, the window frame above the front door and a flower pot outside the residence during her tirade."

The 42-year-old woman is charged with public intoxication, criminal trespassing and vandalism.
