Big-Rig Driver Escapes South Nashville Robbery Attempt

NASHVILLE, TN — A semi-truck driver missed a delivery early Monday when he was forced to flee a robbery attempt in South Nashville.

The driver told police he was waiting outside a business on Fourth Avenue South when two men leaped on to his running boards and demanded he open the door. Instead of acquiescing, the driver said he put the hammer down, causing the men to either jump off or fall from the truck.

The driver called police once he stopped at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds on Nolensville Road.
