Cane Ridge High School Briefly Evacuated for Fire Call

A small rooftop fire forced students from the Nashville high school early Thursday.

ANTIOCH, TN — A small fire on the roof of Cane Ridge High School led to a brief evacuation Thursday morning.

The Nashville Fire Department responded to a fire call around 6:45 a.m. when someone reported seeing smoke coming from the school's roof. Students were evacuated or held on buses while firefighters investigated.

A small fire, which investigators believe started in a heating and cooling unit, was quickly extinguished and students returned inside around 7:10 a.m.
